Statement
The real world, seen my way.
QVi is the photography of QVi — based in Seattle and working between Korea, the United States, and Japan, with trips that have reached as far as the Gulf and Southeast Asia. The work goes wherever the road leads: snowfields and fog in Hokkaido, dunes and high desert in the American West, a river town under blossom, night skies and still water, animals, and the ordinary theatre of people in the street.
What ties it together isn't a subject but a way of looking — the real world met head-on and framed with my own eye and opinion, never staged. A crowd, a coastline, a single tree at dusk: I'm after the same moment in each — when a place stops being scenery and starts to feel like something.
On prints
Every photograph is a numbered, limited edition, printed to order — nothing sits in storage — with open-edition postcards the one exception. Buying a print gives you the piece to live with; the image itself remains the artist's copyright.
